Space overview
Makers Window is a creative space for, and built by, the community. It is a welcoming and inclusive space to make art and other things, but that’s not everything that happens here. We believe art and creativity should be very accessible to everyone and that everyone is creative.
Flexible space with shopfront, space for workshops, meetings, art exhibitions, performances, poetry readings, markets, and what ever else you can think of! We love collaborating with and supporting people who want to use the space, so please get in touch with any questions. The main space has a yellow floor and white walls. The front of the space has a shopfront with moveable shelving and cabinets full of artworks made by the MakersWindow and community members. The front windows are large and can be used to display and feature artworks and exhibitions. The space has facilities for hanging artworks on the wall. It also has shelving installed, a projector and dimmable LED lights. The back room is available for storage that includes a kitchenette with sink, hot water urn and cups. Tables and chairs are available with the space, but can be stored in the backroom if required. There is a back garden with a veggie patch and chickens!
Very close to public transport in Footscray, as well as great food, coffee, Footscray Park, and Footscray Library.
