Space overview

The Dirty Dozen display cases have been temporarily closed during the restoration of Campbell Arcade and its connection to the new Town Hall Station. With the arcade set to reopen in the coming months, these iconic display cases will once again offer a dynamic platform for public art. In the coming months, we’ll be opening Expressions of Interest, inviting artists and creatives to apply for the opportunity to showcase their work.  To stay updated on when EOIs will open, sign up for our newsletter for the latest information.  Get the latest from Creative Spaces

The Dirty Dozen and Capsule are among Melbourne’s most captivating exhibition spaces, nestled within Campbell Arcade and Degraves Underpass—the underground walkway linking Flinders Street Station to Degraves Street.

Managed by the City of Melbourne through the Creative Spaces program, these spaces continue to offer a unique opportunity for artists to engage with the public. Stay tuned for updates!

Located within Campbell Arcade, the Dirty Dozen features twelve glass display cases, each measuring approximately 2475mm wide, 520mm deep, and 1050mm high, making them ideal for showcasing 2D, 3D, and sculptural works.

Capsule, a striking mirror-backed display case, measures 3980mm wide, 1000mm deep, and 2000mm high, providing a bold and versatile platform for artistic expression.
