Space overview
Coates Community Arts is an independent arts space with two studios in the Coates Building at 20 Collins Street. You can find us in Suite 6 on the fourth floor, in the former office of the Federation of Chinese Associations.
Join our creative community and rent one of two affordable studios. The studios are 2.5 x 2 metres, and are ideal for freelancers, independent workers, and small business owners looking for a dedicated workspace in a supportive environment. The spaces are enclosed, lockable, well-lit, and feature in-built cupboard space with shelving. They come unfurnished so are a blank canvas for you to design. These studios are not well-ventilated, making them unsuitable for those working with hazardous materials such as oil paints and solvents. Studio occupants have access to Wi-Fi, a shared kitchenette and communal areas.
We are located on Collins Street between Spring and Exhibition Streets, in a convenient inner-city area with easy access to trains, trams, restaurants, cafes, and bars.

Parking
Collins, Exhibition and Spring Streets have 2-hour ticketed street parking. Undercover Secure Parking is located on Little Collins Street. If you don't mind a 5-minute walk, take advantage of the free street parking available from 6:30 pm Monday to Friday on the streets surrounding Fitzroy Gardens.
