Space overview
The Engine Room is a multi-purpose blank canvas space mostly used for group workshops. It is also used for art exhibitions, events, pop-up shops (roller door to Johnston St), fundraisers and anything that requires low levels of light and soundproofing like movie screenings and theatre shows.
Capacity: 88 standing, 66 seated, 50 lying down Space dimensions: 15.7m x 10.45m = 163sq/m Ceiling height: 3.70m Rigging: concrete ceiling, suitable for any rigging points required Sound proofing: high Flooring: grey polished concrete Sound: 2 x RCF ART 3 15” speakers, wall mounted. Allen & Heath 16-channel mixer, 1 x wired microphone Walls: 4 x white painted walls Décor: blue Turkish-style carpets, salt lamps, standing paper lamps Amenities: 2 x toilets, 1 x shower and access to communal kitchen upstairs with sink, fridge/freezer, water urn, bench area, utensils, mugs and cups plus optional bar if the space is being used for an event Heating: Frico 6kw 3-phase Infrared units x 3 = 18kw maximum heating power. Heaters can be switched between 3 modes of either 6/12/18kw modes depending on room heat required. Inventory: cushions, yoga mats, blankets (all subject to availability on the day).

- Projector hire: $110 for full day (8am-midnight), $55 for half day (4 hours).
- Whiteboard & markers for hire $22.

Please note: This is a low light space - no windows or natural light, so may not be suitable for some styles of photography. You have access to two toilets, so please bear this in mind when booking the space and stick within the capacity limits.
