Join Curator Juliette Hanson for a thought-provoking conversation with leading mid-career Melbourne based artist Ruth Höflich, to explore the ideas behind her work and practice.
Höflich is inspired by the dynamic relationship between still and moving images. Through the installation of photography, video and site intervention, To Feed your Oracle explores how we try to understand or predict things that we can’t see, and how our expectations can affect our experiences.
This new body of work has been inspired by the State Library of Victoria’s Conjuring Collection through a George Mora Fellowship. The exhibition explores the ideas of magic and illusion in relation to our perception of the world around us.
