Willem Whitfield
About
Willem Whitfield is an emerging writer, actor, director and producer based in Brisbane. After completing a Bachelor of Creative Industries at QUT, he went on to star in X Files: The Musical. His acting credits include A Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), A Clockwork Orange and The Game.
Willem co-produced and starred in the interactive, high-energy B Movies: Live which toured both Brisbane’s Anywhere Festival from 2016-2020 and Melbourne’s HOT!HOT!HOT! Festival in 2016. He won the Audience Choice at the 48 Hour Film Project in 2018 for his film “The Taste of Fame”, which he wrote, directed and produced.
Recently Willem wrote, produced and starred in the feature-length absurdist comedy Hello, Gaz Rhumbo! Whilst also completing an apprenticeship with the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble. He also won Audience Choice and Best Director for his original meta-modern comedy Honey, I’m Home at Short and Sweet, Queensland.
