Multidisciplinary Artist
Julianne Marshall
About
Julianne Marshall is a multi-media artist who explores emotional and spiritual connections through Australia’s native flora and fauna. Julianne’s ink and watercolour works are layered on wood or canvas through a stream of consciousness process that reflects the complexity of her inner world.
Julianne seeks to draw the viewer into a new awareness, challenge preconceptions and ignite conversations around disability, life experiences, and the natural environment. With a focus on re-use and re-purposing materials, Julianne aims to highlight sustainable practices whilst also reflecting and examining long-held women’s roles and social expectations. By linking to the women’s work of her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother before her, she examines their life experiences, finding the threads that influence and shape her as a woman while unraveling and reimagining her identity.
