Les Rabinowicz enjoyed a long career in film before turning to painting a few years ago as a way of extending his long-standing interest in the visual arts. The focus of his painting lies in combining elements of abstract art with figurative painting in order to suggest mood and atmosphere. He often works from photographic sources or with source material that has photographic qualities, as a way of repudiating the often dull and artless imagery that is found everywhere today.

How do you use your studio?

For Les, the studio is as much a place to think about and prepare new paintings, as it is a place to paint them. The daylight and undisturbed ambience of River Studios makes it a good place for this.
